Coronavirus Update 11th September 2021

BEST PRICE GUARANTEE – book direct and Save.

Wanderers Retreat provides a Best Price Guarantee for guests who make their holiday reservation directly with us.

Our guests, by simply booking direct, can save between 10% and 15% on the cost of their reservation.  We encourage all guests intending to stay with us to do so.

How is this possible?  If you make your reservation through any Online Travel Agency, called OTA’s, you pay them a large commission that they include in the price they give you.  This commission on average starts at a minimum of 15%.

Wanderers Retreats direct prices to guests is discounted by the OTA commissions.  You save by coming direct.

Making a direct reservation is easy.  Either do so online via this website or simply give us a phone call.

There are other benefits as well by booking direct.

Somtimes you might need further assistance after making your reservation.  Having booked direct, just call or email us.

Unfortunately if you booked through an OTA your online enquiry gets computer generated generic answers.  Alternately you find yourself on the phone for an extended period hoping to speak to someone who has no experience or direct knowledge of your accommodation.

All Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) are overseas owned, based and operated.  These OTAs do not pay GST or company taxes on your reservation to the Australian Government.  Wanderers Retreat as a result, is required to pay the GST on the OTAs commission for your stay.  The OTAs also only employ a token workforce in Australia to represent their brand.  They simply do not contribute to our economy.

In summary.  If you make your reservation through an OTA, on average 15% of the cost of your stay that you are paying, instead of remaining in your pocket, is going overseas.  Keep this money in your pocket by booking direct.

Wanderers Retreat  is subject to current NSW State wide temporary lockdown orders for all of NSW due to COVID-19.  These current lockdown orders are planned to end on the 1st Monday after NSW reaches the 70% fully covid-19 vacinnation target.  This milestone is currently anticipated to be achieved on the 12th of October 2021.

We will therefore be open to fully vacinated guests from the 18th of October 2021.  If regional lockdown restrictions for our area are relaxed earlier we will reopen.

For “Fully COVID-19 Vacinated Guests Only” we are taking reservations for holiday travel from the 18th of October 2021.

The NSW State Government has stated that under itsCOVID-19 Roadmap it is mandating that businesses can only accept adult guests, aged 16 and above, who are fully vaccinated.  Wanderers Retreat at all times strictly follows the NSW Public Health Orders to ensure the safety of our guests and staff.

At check-in all adult guests will be required to show evidence of their full covid-19 vacination record. Children under 16 years of age are not required to be vaccinated.

Wanderers has and operates to a Services NSW Covid-19 Safety Plan.  All of our staff are fully vacinated.

Should further area lockdowns occur, and it impacts on your reservation we are offering refunds for cancellations outside 30 days and full direct credits for inside 30 days to checkin.  Please refer to our booking conditions for details.

The NSW Government has done a magnificent job in managing the pandemic. They are continuously updating the NSW Health website with respect to the most current COVID19 restrictions in NSW including holiday travel.

We recommend that guests prior to travel update themselves on the latestest restictions by refering to the NSW Health website for details.

Valued Guests, as we are all aware right now, coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to have a significant and unprecedented impact across Australia and the world.  As a family owned and operated business, the health and well-being of our guests and staff is Wanderers Retreat’s highest priority.

Wanderers Retreat is pleased to announce that we have been successful in our application to receive funding support from the NSW Government’s tourism and events agency Destination NSW, through the 2020-21 Refresh & Renew Fund.

The NSW Government grant was awarded in July 2021 for the purpose of replacing and upgrading all of Wanderers Retreats guest’s mattresses.

Bed comfort and a good night’s sleep are such an important element of everyone’s holiday experience.  A mattress can be the make or break.  Particularly if you are unfortunate to suffer from a bad back.

All of our guests for their sleeping experience, thanks to the generosity of this grant, will now sleep on the highest quality Australian made Sealy Charlotte Plus range of pillow top mattresses.

Every cottage now features queen ensembles in the main bedroom for greater comfort with new mattresses fitted in all other bedrooms. Thirty two pieces in all are being installed.

Wanderers Retreat, as a small family owned tourism business, sincerely thanks the NSW Government and Destination NSW for their support with this great initiative for assisting small tourism businesses.

The mattress change over is now complete.  12 cottages, queen ensembles in all the main bedrooms, new mattresses on all beds.

Thank you to Sealy Australia for ensuring the delivery happened ontime and without delay.  Wonderful customer service.  The mattresses are normally made and shipped from their Sydney factory.  Unfortunately COVID struck again with a Sydney lockdown potentially disrupting the supply for sometime.

Sealy made the delivery a priority, manufacturing the 32 pieces and shipping them direct from their Queensland factory.

Then it was down to us to take out the old beds and frames and install the new.

Our guests now get to enjoy Sealy Australia’s highest quality Charlotte Plush range of mattresses.  These mattresses are designed to promote cool, comfortable rest and are renowned for providing the support you need for a good night’s sleep.

Thank you to Vib and Tammy from City Sleep Safe. They have provided a new home for all of our much loved mattresses, bed frames and bedside tables.
